Commissioning Site Manager (Data Centers)📍 Locations: Austin, TX | New York, NY | San Francisco, CA | Abernathy, TX | Barber Lake, TX | Buffalo, NYI'm looking for a Commissioning Site Manager (Data Centers) for a leading developer of high-performance, mission-critical infrastructure powering the next generation of AI and cloud compute.This is not a typical commissioning role...It sits at the point where design becomes reality, where complex mechanical and electrical systems are brought online, tested under pressure, and proven ready for live, high-density compute environments.These are facilities where downtime is not an option and precision is everything.The role will take ownership of commissioning activities across large-scale data center projects, acting as the on-site authority coordinating between general contractors, design teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.You’ll be responsible for ensuring that every system, mechanical, electrical, controls, and monitoring, is fully validated, integrated, and operating exactly as intended.From chilled water plants, HVAC systems, and air handling units to UPS systems, generators, switchgear, BMS/EPMS, and complex control sequences, you’ll be at the center of it all.You’ll drive commissioning through all phases (Level 1–5), ensuring rigorous testing, troubleshooting, and system optimisation from pre-functional checks through to final acceptance.What makes this opportunity compelling is the scale and impact.These facilities are being delivered at hyperscale, under aggressive timelines, to support some of the most advanced compute workloads in the world.The standards are high, the environment is fast-moving, and the expectations are uncompromising.I'm looking for someone who brings:Strong hyperscale or mission-critical data center commissioning experienceDeep knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC, chilled water, generators, UPS, switchgear, etc.)Familiarity with ASHRAE / BCxA commissioning processes and NETA standardsStrong troubleshooting ability in live commissioning environmentsA hands-on, ownership-driven approach to complex technical deliveryThis is a role for someone who thrives in high-pressure environments, enjoys solving real engineering problems on-site, and takes pride in seeing complex infrastructure come to life safely and correctly.Package: $200,000–$250,000 base + equity + benefitsIf you’re interested in shaping some of the most advanced infrastructure being built today, I’d love to hear from you.📩 Apply below or send you resume directly to: morgan@umbilicaladvanced.comOr feel free to message me on LinkedIn
