New Product Development Coordinator

We're seeking a dynamic New Product Development Coordinator to join our fast-paced Product Development (PD) team. This pivotal role ensures the seamless execution of product development processes from concept to launch, offering exposure to every facet of NPD, including innovation, packaging development, formula testing, post-approval, and commercialization support. Its products honor the love and connection of hair traditions while delivering what hair craves: rich conditioners and fortifying protein, patent-pending technology and fermentation, sensorial luxury, and exceptional performance for moisture, strength, and transformational hair health.Requirements Onsite presence required 3-4 times per week in Upland, CA, with one day per week designated for remote work.Occasional onsite support at our Los Angeles, CA office.Key Responsibilities Office and Shipment Support: Provide essential onsite support in Upland 3-4 times per week, with intermittent support in our LA office.Assist with the efficient opening and logging of all incoming shipments.Facilitate outbound shipping of packages and samples to a diverse range of vendors.Coordinate and meticulously fill samples for evaluation processes.Maintain impeccable organization and labeling of the sample library, product trays, and lab standards across both Upland and LA offices.Proactively order benchmarks, samples, and office supplies for the Upland, CA office as required.Support the team in organizing and preparing for meetings, including sample curation, labeling, and presentation deck assistance.Packaging Development Support Support in-oven accelerated compatibility testing, including comprehensive reporting, detailed imagery, and timely compatibility updates.Assist in product functionality and in-use testing to ensure optimal performance.Facilitate sample request submissions to packaging vendors and meticulously track sample timelines.Oversee current sample inventory and maintain rigorous approved packaging standards.Contribute to the packaging artwork routing review process and manage deliverables with key stakeholders.Formula Development Coordination Accurately log all formula submissions into the designated tracker.Maintain the organization of product trays and cubbies for samples.Ensure all formula samples are meticulously organized and properly labeled.Maintain lab standards, pilot standards, and the first three production standards for consistency.Test competitive benchmarks and provide detailed, insightful feedback.Save all relevant documentation to shared drives for accessibility and record-keeping.Actively participate in sample submission testing and feedback sessions.For major salon testing initiatives, assist in capturing high-quality before and after pictures/footage.During major salon testing, provide live note-taking, gather stylist and stakeholder feedback, and succinctly recap salon test results for the PD Manager.Post-Approval Development Coordination Coordinate the acquisition of safety bulk from Contract Manufacturers (CMs).Support the efficient shipping of safety bulk to various test labs.Track the precise start and end dates of safety testing on the post-approval tracker.Distribute all completed test reports to the PD team and follow up with the PD Manager regarding the success or failure of these reports.Coordinate photoshoot bulk requirements and manage the filling of bulk into final components.Assist in thorough market research and trend analysis to identify emerging opportunities.Contribute to competitive analysis and innovation research to keep us ahead of the curve.Opportunity to attend local industry events and trade shows to stay abreast of new innovations, trends, and technologies.Skills + Qualifications Ability to work independently and effectively manage tasks in both Upland and Los Angeles locations as needed.Proficiency in Google Slides, Google Docs, Gmail, Asana, and Slack is essential.Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.Exceptional organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.A collaborative team player with a strong sense of reliability and excellent time and task management abilities.Proactive mindset with a proven capacity for prioritization.2–3 years of experience in beauty product development, marketing, project management, or a related field.Bachelor's degree in beauty product development, marketing, cosmetic chemistry, business administration, or a related field.Cécred is an Equal Opportunity Employer and provides reasonable accommodation to employees in accordance with applicable laws.#J-18808-Ljbffr
