Genfare, LLC, part of SPX Technologies' Detection and Measurement platform, is a leading provider of innovative fare collection systems and services for the public transportation industry, combining hardware, software, and cloud-based solutions to modernize transit payment experiences.Position SummaryThe Director of Finance serves as the senior finance leader for Genfare business unit within SPX's Detection and Measurement segment and is responsible for overall financial performance, forecasting accuracy, internal controls, business contract oversite, and decision support for growth and profitability. This role partners closely with Genfare and segment leadership to translate financial insights into operating actions, capital allocation decisions, and long-range strategy, while ensuring compliance with SPX Technologies' financial policies and all applicable regulatory requirements. The Director of Finance leads the finance team across FP&A, accounting, and related functions, and acts as a key member of the Genfare leadership team.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership and Business PartnershipServe as the primary finance business partner to the Genfare General Manager and Detection and Measurement leadership, providing data-driven insights and recommendations that shape strategy and execution.Financial Planning, Budgeting, and ForecastingOwn the annual operating plan, long-range financial plan, and rolling forecasts for the Genfare business, ensuring alignment with segment and corporate expectations.Financial Reporting, Analysis, and KPIsEnsure timely, accurate, and insightful monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for Genfare, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and key operational metrics.Controls, Compliance, and Risk ManagementMaintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures consistent with SPX Technologies' standards and GAAP, ensuring compliance with all financial, tax, and regulatory requirements.Team Leadership and Talent DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop talent as a player coach for the small versatile team, including FP&A, accounting, and related support roles, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Cross-Functional and Operational SupportPartner with Programs, Implementation, Operations, Product Management, Sales, and Managed Services to ensure financial transparency and discipline across the project and implementation lifecycle.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA and/or CPA/CMA strongly preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Director, VP, or equivalent) in an industrial, manufacturing, or complex technology environment. Experience supporting or leading a business unit or P&L of comparable scale $100m-$200m ideally within an industrial, project based and recurring revenue based, or SaaS-enabled business. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, internal controls, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated experience with acquisitions, including due diligence and integration. Proven track record of building and leading high-performing finance teams and driving performance improvements. Advanced analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders. Experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., JDE or similar) and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with cloud-based tools and project/implementation systems is a plus.Preferred Experience: Background in manufacturing plus exposure to SaaS or recurring revenue models (e.g., fare collection, payments, or transportation-related technology). Prior involvement in mergers and acquisitions, including financial modeling and post-close integration of systems and processes. Experience working with or supporting program management, implementation, and managed services functions in a complex solution environment.The compensation information that follows is a reasonable estimate for the position and is provided pursuant to legal requirements in this state. The salary estimate provided represents the typical salary range for the position, and other factors may be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary, including skill set, experience, training, education, organizational needs, internal equity, market data, and geographic zone. The estimated salary range for this position is: $170,000 - $230,000 At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan, subject to the rules governing the plan.
