As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you'll lead independent testing efforts that verify mission-critical Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) requirements, bridging the gap between high-level mission objectives and hands-on hardware validation using advanced RF test equipment and automated test frameworks. This position offers the unique opportunity to shape test strategies for lunar navigation systems while collaborating directly with vendors and government teams to advance humanity's return to the Moon.This is a full-time position based at either the Goddard Space Flight Center or our Aerospace office in Greenbelt, MD, offering a hybrid work model that combines 4 regular onsite workdays with remote flexibility as business needs allow.What You’ll Be DoingSupport Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) verification on NASA's LCRNS Project at GSFC while delivering results and operating strategically.Foster Innovation and operate strategically through designing test plans, procedures, and automated Python/YAML scripts that flow down high-level mission objectives into executable verification activities using advanced RF equipment to validate system performance.Conduct fault analysis on test discrepancies, and deliver innovative solutions that resolve technical issues while keeping the project on schedule to meet critical development milestonesOperate strategically to define how LCRNS PNT requirements will be verified across the entire project lifecycle, ensuring test plans align with verification needs and that the combination of testing methods provides comprehensive coverage, directly leading change in project technical direction and risk managementDuties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed What Corporate Skills You’ll BringStrong written and oral communication skills Must work well in a team environment Possess organizational, time management and project management skills Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need Interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations Minimum RequirementsWhat You Need to be SuccessfulPh.D. degree from an accredited college/university program in engineering, science, or equivalent (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months) 0-1 year of industry work experience Knowledge of RF and PNT testing.Experience generating and verifying system requirements.Experience with automation and scripting, including python, yaml, etc.Experience with Hardware: spectrum analyzer, network analyzers, etc.Ability to process and analyze complex RF measurement data.Experience with avionics and navigation systems for aerospace applications.Willing to travel domestically approx. 10%Willing to work on-site at NASA GSFC or the Aerospace office in Greenbelt, MDThis position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.
