Classification: Non-Exempt Department: CNC Reports to: CNC Lead Date: January 2026 CNC Tech JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/ Objectives The CNC Tech is responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines, saws, and other metalworking equipment. Duties include preparing materials and running CNC machine to meet production requirements according to the approved schedule. Work is performed under guidance and training provided by the CNC Lead. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Prepares raw materials by using band saw and other methods. De-burns and grinds finished machined parts. Complies with and maintains inspection procedure throughout production runs. Received process travelers, verifies that the components are correct, and closes them out. Empties the chip barrels Maintains fluid levels in assigned machines Cleans and maintains machines and shop area; ensures areas, machine, tooling and parts are cleaned regularly and free from excess oil deposits; maintains the shop order Cleans and assembles all work holding, tooling, gaging, etc. Change out tooling and set tool offsets, mill or lathes; make offsets adjustments to tooling, mill or lathe Change out fixturing as detailed in setup sheet, mill or lathe Adjust machine controls or control media, verifies correct program for running properly. Uses G & M Code language to write programs from scratch at either machine control or offline. Setup new jobs by selecting work holding, tooling, programing with little assistance. Develop CNC program from 3D modeling software with CAM software Work on multi-axis CNC machines, 2-3 axis lathes and 3,4,5 axis milling machines. Work Environment This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that requires frequent interaction with machinery and production equipment. Team members may be exposed to noise, grinding debris, fumes, and hazardous fluids. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PIP) is mandatory at all times. The role involves working in proximity to moving mechanical parts and requires strict adherence to all Puck & OSHA safety rules and regulations. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling objects that are 50 pounds or heavier. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Position Type & Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Opportunities to work extended hours during the week and weekend may be optional or required as job duties demand. Travel No travel is regularly expected for this position. Required Education & Experience High school diploma or GED diploma. Industry experience.
