Tier 3 Microsoft 365 AdministratorLocation: Denver, CO or Brentwood, TNThis is a hybrid of remote work along with 3 days/month onsite the 2 nd full week of each month on Tuesday, Weds, and Thursday and perhaps a few more days as needed based on business needsDuration: April 2026 December 31, 2026 with possibility of an extensionOn Call Support: May require participation in on-call rotation for critical incidentsWe are seeking a highly skilled Tier 3 Microsoft 365 Administrator to provide advanced technical support, administration, and engineering for our client's Microsoft 365 environment. This role serves as the escalation point for complex issues, leads platform optimization efforts, and partners closely with security, identity, and infrastructure teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and reliable M365 ecosystem.Responsibilities will include the following:Microsoft 365 Administration & Engineering:Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services, with deep hands-on ownership of:SharePoint Admin Center (Online sites, permissions, governance, storage, sharing)Exchange Admin Center (Online mailboxes, transport rules, retention, hybrid configurations)Teams Admin Center (Policies, voice, meetings, apps, and integrations)Design, implement, and maintain M365 configurations aligned with organizational standards and best practicesManage tenant-wide settings, service health, licensing, and capacity planningTier 3 Support & Escalation:Act as the highest-level escalation point for complex M365 incidents and service degradationPerform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term corrective actionsEngage Microsoft Premier/Unified Support as needed and manage cases to resolutionSecurity, Compliance & Governance:Partner with security teams to implement and maintain:Conditional Access policiesData Loss Prevention (DLP)Retention and eDiscovery policiesEnsure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirementsSupport audits and security reviews related to M365 servicesAutomation & Optimization:Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell , Microsoft Graph, and M365 APIsImprove operational efficiency through scripting, standardization, and self-service toolingEvaluate and deploy new M365 features and capabilitiesCollaboration & Leadership:Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 support staffCreate and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standardsProvide architectural input for M365-related projects and migrationsRequired Skills and Expertise:5+ years of experience administering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environmentExpert-level experience with the following:SharePoint Online and SharePoint Admin CenterExchange Online and Exchange Admin CenterMicrosoft Teams and Teams Admin CenterStrong PowerShell scripting skills for M365 administrationSolid understanding of Azure AD / Entra ID (identity, authentication, and access management)Experience troubleshooting hybrid environments (on-prem AD, Exchange hybrid)Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skillsDesired Skills and Expertise:Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102 , Exchange , Teams , or Security certifications)Experience with Microsoft Purview, Defender for Office 365, and IntuneFamiliarity with large-scale migrations to M365Experience in regulated or highly secure environments
