Position starts at $70,000-90,000 annual salary DOE
What You'll Do:
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team, responsible for supporting the overall accounting and financial operations of Beaver Run Resort. This role includes responsibilities in certain areas and cross-training in others to include Group and AR Accounting, Cash Accounting, Reporting and Management, Owner Accounting, HOA Accounting, Payroll, and General Ledger (GL). The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks and priorities while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This position requires a self-motivated problem solver with strong analytical and reconciliation skills. The Senior Accountant is a collaborative team player and will work with all departments and levels of the organization. This position reports to the Director of Finance and Accounting. Full-time, year-round position with benefits eligibility. Hybrid schedule with required days on site in Breckenridge, CO and some remote days. Must live within commuting distance to Breckenridge, CO. Transitional housing may be available.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounting activities including billing, collections, and account reconciliations for Groups and Wholesale accounts.
Cross train with and providing back-up for accounting activities for owners, HOAs, and general ledger accounts.
Assist with payroll processing and reconciliations.
Manage cash including processing cash payments, disbursements, and petty cash, reconciling cash banks and ensuring secure cash handling.
Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Maintain documentation and support for audits, compliance reviews, and internal controls.
Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to increased efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience – required
CPA – preferred
3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or resort operations – required
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with NetSuite, Springer Miller Systems (SMS) and Infogenesis is a plus.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices – required
Proficiency in English written and spoken language – required
