Middle School French Immersion Art TeacherSchool-Year 2026-2027Full-time, 10- month positionOverviewImplement the curriculum, keep accurate records, work cooperatively with other teachers and adapt materials to the French immersion theme. Teachers are responsible for managing behavior and maintaining a positive classroom climate. Candidates must be eager to work with students of all abilities in a French immersion public school and have a deep enough command of French, English, and their content area to adapt instruction to students' interests and needs. Instructors will be recruited from a variety of French-speaking countries to represent the broad reach of the French language around the world. International candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience and a teaching degree.Status of PositionThis is a full-time position with Académie Lafayette. This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.ReportingThe Specials Teacher reports to their campus/building principal.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in curriculum planningLesson planning and implementation of the immersion modelClassroom managementCommunicate with peers and parentsMaintain accurate grades, documentation of report cards, and attendance recordsParticipate in all mandatory training and professional development, as requiredEngage in school-wide activitiesQualificationsBachelor's DegreeHold or be eligible for Missouri Teaching Certificate or equivalent in home countryNative or near-native fluency in FrenchProven experience as a teacherExcellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills necessary for working in a multicultural environmentThe ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to meet deadlinesAbility to integrate technology into the classroomOther RequirementsBe willing to provide information for background check clearance.
