Neurologist
Overview
Location: Nellis AFB, NV
Work Schedule: 0730-1630, Monday – Friday between the hours of 0700 and 2000. Shifts will normally be scheduled for a 9-hour period, to include an uncompensated 60‑minute lunch break. The contractor will provide on‑call coverage as scheduled and may be required to work extended hours due to clinical necessity in urgent situations. This on‑call requirement is rotated among all Neurology Providers
On‑Call: Contractor must be able to respond to any study within 1 hour of notification.
Pay: Between $200/hr - $218/hr
On‑Call Pay: $18/hr
Position Type: PRN - Independent Contractor (1099)
Responsibilities
Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases and disorders of the nervous system.
Outpatient Services. Provide outpatient services for patients as scheduled by the Government.
Inpatient Services. Shall provide inpatient care.
Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergency problems as they occur.
Capable of performing lumbar punctures.
Capable of performing and interpreting nerve conduction studies and electromyography.
Capable of performing evoked potentials and electroencephalograms.
Capable of providing chemodenervation (such as botulinum toxin injections) for common neurological conditions.
Prepare all records and reports as may be required in support of services rendered and as required by the MTF.
Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
Qualifications
Degree/Education: Successful completion of ACGME approved Neurology Medical Residency
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) are Required. Certifications must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines. Members must present proof of current certification(s) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Computer‑based training does not constitute fulfilling the training requirements. Must maintain currency at NO cost to the government.
Experience: Have at least 24 months of Neurologic clinical experience within the last 36 months.
Board Certification: Current board certification in adult Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (ABPN).
Licensure/Registration: Employee also must maintain appropriate level of continuing education hours consistent with their state licensure requirements. For positions involving patient care, candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted Medical License to practice MEDICINE in the state of Nevada
