Penn State Health Shared Services Location: US:PA:Hershey Work Type: Full Time FTE: 1.0 Shift: DaysHours: 80 JOB SUMMARY: C oordinates with various departments, clinicians and physicians to identify, plan and coordinate medical and IT equipment needs to be installed as a part of small to large and complex healthcare construction projects. Assess condition on existing equipment and make recommendations of re-use vs replacement. Work closely with outside vendors, facilities construction, and supply chain management to ensure that equipment specifications are standardized, accurately identified, specified and communicated to the teams. Assures construction documents accurately reflect medical equipment.Mentors junior equipment planners and others, as needed, on the equipment planning process. M INIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in related field with 5 years of medical equipment planning/coordinator experience required. Experience must include 4 years of reading/interpreting architecture/construction drawings and using Attania equipment planning software. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of clinical and technical personnel, including clinical leaders and support services as well as external architects and vendors.Critical thinking skills.Comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of clinical equipment and networked medical systems.Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of safety issues surrounding medical equipment. Comprehensive understanding of both local and national public safety regulatory issues. Ability to apply basic and advanced safety concepts.Good understanding of project management terms and methods.Ability to prioritize work consistent with available facts, constraints and probably consequences.Ability to prepare bid documents, analyze bid results and make recommendations on vendor selections and operational equipment maintenance contracts.Ability to develop and monitor project budgets.Ability To Mentor And Teach Basic Skills To Others.
