Tester - ALL Shifts

DescriptionThe primary responsibility of a Tester is to test remanufactured steering gears, perform evaluation tests on warranty claims; troubleshoot and analyze customer claims.Essential DutiesAdhere to established safety procedures and 5 “ S ” standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle) required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of partsPerform point test on test stand for both remanufactured and warranty units of all modelsPretest warranty, diagnose problem, repair and communicate technical information to the warranty and quality control departmentsInput data entry transactions and retrieve information by accessing the computerMaintain a clean work station and retrieve materials as neededOther duties as assigned; cross-training is required to ensure flexibility in daily job assignmentsCore CompetenciesAction oriented: Demonstrates ability to take action and lead by example. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GEDOne Year Experience in production/manufacturing environmentAbility to interpret and comprehend plans and/or blueprintsWorking knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principlesAbility to work overtime as needed both daily and weekends
