Preconstruction Coordinator

GCON is looking for a Preconstruction Coordinator who thrives on being the person that keeps everything moving. In this role, you won’t just support the estimating team—you’ll be at the center of it, helping drive the pace, clarity, and organization behind every bid we pursue. From coordinating with trade partners to keeping critical timelines on track, your work will directly impact our ability to win projects and build strong partnerships.

Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the full lifecycle of bid solicitation and tracking
Post projects and actively engage trade partners to solicit competitive bids
Maintain and update the project scheduler, ensuring accuracy and consistency
Organize and manage document flow within estimating and bid tracking systems
Set up and maintain projects within estimating platforms (including BuildingConnected)
Track plans, specs, and related documentation
Communicate consistently with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely responses
Support estimating and budgeting efforts, including bid leveling and analysis
Build and maintain strong relationships with trade partners through proactive outreach
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or missing information and escalate when needed
Continuously look for ways to improve processes and support team efficiency
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
5-7 years of estimating coordination experience
Prior estimating experience with a General Contractor
Proficiency with BuildingConnected
Proficiency with Bluebeam
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
Process-oriented, but confident stepping in when something doesn’t add up
Proactive mindset; identifies what needs to be done and takes initiative
Comfortable engaging directly with partners via phone and email
Strong sense of ownership and accountability in day-to-day responsibilities
Physical Requirements:
Standing/Walking/Sitting
Legs: Must be able to climb stairs
Hands/Arms: Constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use
Vision: Visual acuity in near, mid, and far range. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination
Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment
Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio
Lift/Carry: Up to 40lbs.
