Description A mid sized insurance company is building a cloud-first, API driven, dynamic insurance platform that enables customers to purchase insurance policies directly online. Expanding our team, we are adding experienced software innovators to enhance our development efforts.This role is ideal for experienced developers who are well-versed in the development environment outlined below and are eager to share their expertise by mentoring and guiding other team members.Developers in this role will participate as both technical experts and individual contributors, supporting other team members by leading design, planning, and resolution of roadblocks. Through close collaboration with contributors at various levels, they will build deep domain expertise and serve as technical subject matter experts (SMEs) with broad technical influence across projects and teams.Job ResponsibilitiesContribute as a technical resource on a cross functional, agile development team including members from development, quality assurance, and business analystsServe as technical SME for a particular domain within the overall platformProvide guidance and mentoring including pair programming, code reviews, demos, and group/1:1 coaching.Design system features to meet business objectives while fitting into the enterprise platform ecosystemContribute to cross-team platform design decisionsCollaborate with Product team to ensure that requirements are understood, and short-term and long-term business objectives are metFollow department-wide technical, process, and quality standards while contributing to their improvementTake a lead role in creating technical documentation and content, ensuring that knowledge is transferred across the teamDeliver regular and frequent code contributions aligned with User Stories and sprint goalsGuide the team regarding unit testing; collaborate closely with QA resources to guarantee successful functional and regression testing of all featuresEnsure that the team achieves system performance goalsEnsure that the team thinks with a security first mindsetTake ownership of problems and solutions, being proactive to ensure successProvide innovative problem-solving skills, thinking outside the boxOccasional travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton PA area for strategy meetings (several times per year)Normal working hours based on Eastern US time Required Education And Knowledge Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science/related field or equivalent working experience10+ years of experience as a software developer, primarily using C#Excellent programming, debugging, and troubleshooting skills with C# and .NET3+ years of experience contributing in a technical roleEnterprise level system architecture experience, designing and delivering RESTful APIs, integrations, and complex business processesEnterprise level design and configuration of cloud services including serverless, data storage, messaging, logging, etc., preferably with AzureExperience with design and implementation of both monolithic and microservice architecturesExperience designing reliable and performant data storage solutions and schemas utilizing cloud technologies including SQL DBs, Document DBs, and unstructured dataExperience with creating CI/CD pipelines supporting Infrastructure as Code (IAC)Strong verbal and written communication skills, collaboration capabilities, and attention to detailExperience working on large software development projects while collaborating across multiple agile teams Preferred Knowledge And Experience Commercial Property and Casualty insurance experiencePractical working knowledge of ASP.NET MVC, and .NET CoreExperience with TypeScript and SPA frameworks (Angular, React, etc.) Skills C#, Architecture, .net core, angular, restful api, azure, cloud Top Skills Details C#,Architecture,.net core,angular,restful api,azure,cloud Additional Skills & Qualifications N/A Experience Level Expert Level Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Pittston, PA.
