Emergency Medical Responder

DescriptionTeam Mobile Health Care is seeking a qualified and dependable Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Driver to support non-emergency medical services in accordance with Georgia Department of Public Health Office of EMS and Trauma (OEMST) standards. This position is responsible for the safe operation of EMS vehicles and for assisting with patient care within the Georgia EMR scope of practice. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, strong situational awareness, and the ability to function calmly and effectively in emergency environments.ResponsibilitiesSafely operate ambulances and emergency response vehicles in compliance with Georgia EMS rules and due-regard driving standardsRespond promptly to dispatched calls using approved routes and safe emergency driving practicesMaintain vehicle control and crew/patient safety during emergency responses and transportsAssist EMTs and Paramedics with patient assessment and care within the Georgia EMR scope of practicePerform basic life support skills including CPR/AED use, bleeding control, oxygen administration, and patient movementAssist with lifting, securing, and transporting patients using approved equipment and techniquesConduct required daily vehicle inspections and readiness checks per OEMST standardsClean, restock, and maintain ambulance and medical equipmentReport mechanical, safety, or supply issues promptlyCommunicate clearly with dispatch, medical staff, and team membersComplete required trip, vehicle, and incident documentationMaintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Qualifications: (Georgia-Specific)Current Georgia EMR license issued by the Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma Current CPR/BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)Valid Georgia driver’s license with acceptable driving recordAbility to pass Georgia fingerprint-based criminal background check (GAPS/IdentoGO) Ability to meet physical demands of EMS dutiesEmergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC / EVOS) certification (preferred)Previous EMS, fire, rescue, or healthcare experience (preferred)Familiarity with local roadways, hospitals, and EMS response areas (preferred)RequirementsAbility to lift, carry, and move patients and equipment (often 100+ lbs. with assistance)Ability to work long shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weatherAbility to function effectively in high-stress, rapidly changing environmentsWork EnvironmentEmergency scenes, ambulances, hospitals, and community locationsPotential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, hazardous scenes, and emotionally challenging situationsWhat We OfferCompetitive payTraining and continuing education opportunitiesSupportive, team-based EMS cultureOpportunity to serve and protect your local community
