Production Planner
Spray-Tek is an industry leader providing custom spray drying services to leading companies in some of the world's most quality-conscious industries. As we continue to grow through new projects and acquisitions, we are seeking a Production Planner to support our Beloit, Wisconsin facility.
Position Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating customer requirements with manufacturing capacity, materials, and internal resources to help ensure orders are completed on time and in full. This role serves as a key connection point between customers, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering, while maintaining accurate planning data and proactively resolving issues that may affect the production schedule. The successful candidate will be highly organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change quickly.
Key Responsibilities
* Own day-to-day customer service inquiries related to order status, production timing, materials, and schedule changes.
* Coordinate the Trials and Operations Planning Process and maintain a working understanding of customer, material, equipment, and production requirements.
* Proactively communicate with customers to prevent material shortages, address changing requirements, and escalate production changes to Supply Chain and other affected functions.
* Maintain accurate planning and execution data within BatchMetrics and related ERP/MES systems, including MRP alignment, equipment time confirmations, process order opening and closing, reservation closure, and master recipe creation.
* Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, equipment capacity, labor considerations, and changing business priorities.
* Monitor production-plan performance, consolidate key metrics, identify trends or constraints, and recommend corrective actions to protect service levels and schedule attainment.
* Partner closely with Purchasing, Quality, Production, Engineering, and other internal teams to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and in full.
* Provide timely, professional communication to internal and external customers when risks, delays, or changes arise.
* Maintain a world-class level of customer service and professionalism, with performance supported by customer feedback and satisfaction measures.
* Ensure compliance with departmental SOPs, planning processes, and documentation requirements.
* Provide training and support to other team members as needed and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
* Perform other department-related responsibilities as business needs require.
Required Skills & Qualifications

* Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and incorporate schedule changes with minimal disruption.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving planning or service issues.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
* Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, science, or a related discipline; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Experience
* 3+ years of production planning, manufacturing scheduling, supply chain, or related experience.
* 3+ years of experience using scheduling, ERP, or manufacturing systems.
* Experience with BatchMetrics or similar ERP/MES platforms.
* Experience in a manufacturing, food, ingredients, pharmaceutical, chemical, or other quality-regulated environment.
