Document Controls Manager
SOFT's client located in Melville, NY is looking for a Document Controls Manager for a long term contract assignment.This is an onsite position that requires daily presence at the engineering office in Long Island, NY. The project is expected to continue until 2027.
The Document Controls Manager will serve as the primary document control representative responsible for managing document control processes within a portfolio of LNG projects executed by the Companies Complex Construction Gas. This role requires strict adherence to approved processes and procedures for document control functionality. Depending on the project scope, the Document Controls Manager may be assigned to multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement an efficient document management system for utilization by the company and contractors.
· Establish and enforce document control and numbering procedures specific to the project.
· Capture and manage project document deliverables in accordance with approved processes and procedures, ensuring their availability to the project execution team.
· Distribute project information and documentation to relevant stakeholders following approved processes and procedures.
· Regularly report the status of documentation in relation to project schedule and milestone priorities to Project Management and other relevant personnel.
· Conduct regular quality audits of project document control functions to ensure consistent and effective service to the project.
· Provide accurate and timely status reporting metrics for all document control functions to Project Management on a regular and continuous basis.
· Collaborate with contractor representatives to ensure proper and effective application of document control processes and procedures.
· Attend project meetings and functions related to document management.
Required Experience & Skills
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in document control / information management.
· Proficiency in using Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and Collaboration software applications such as SharePoint, Unifier, etc.
· Technical document control experience in the oil and gas, utility, or manufacturing industry.
Preferred Experience & Skills
· Proficiency in using MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
· Experience in Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) administration, such as SharePoint, Unifier, OpenText, etc.
· Familiarity with Supplier and Engineering documentation processes and requirements.
Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
