Preferred Care at Absecon - Maintenance TechJob Summary:Preferred Care at Absecon is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Tech to support the Maintenance Director in maintenance and safety operations of our nursing home facility. The ideal candidate will ensure the environment is clean, safe, and fully operational for residents, staff, and visitors, in accordance with all state and federal regulations.Maintenance Tech Key Responsibilities:Assist in planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the maintenance departmentPerform hands-on maintenance duties including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry tasksHelp ensure the facility, equipment, and grounds are maintained in a safe and operable conditionSupport in developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedulesRespond promptly to maintenance requests and emergenciesMonitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipmentParticipate in safety inspections, fire drills, and emergency preparedness programsMaintain documentation and records of all maintenance work performedMaintenance Tech Requirements:High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade certification preferredStrong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systemsFamiliarity with safety and compliance regulations in healthcare environmentsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and safety codesMust be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as neededExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyValid driver's license requiredMaintenance Tech Preferred Skills:Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facilitiesBilingual (Spanish or another language) is a plusBasic computer proficiency for work order systems and documentationJoin our team and make a difference in the lives of our residents while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
