Optimization and Data Science Engineer

Looking for experienced and skilled Optimization and Data Science Engineer to join our team in Alpharetta, GA. The candidate will work closely with Product owners, Development teams, Architecture Teams, and Infra Team to gather and analyze non-functional requirements of complex schedule Optimization, automation, and data science needs. This role will be responsible for converting business requirements into technical specs, modeling and solving Optimization and Data science problems, work with engineering team for implementation. Responsibilities: 1. Work closely with business owners (PO) to understand the needs and provide inputs in creating a product vision for optimization and automation 2. Develop, implement, and improve schedule optimization models using Timefold within a workforce management product 3. Research and develop ML algorithms to provide predictive and prescriptive insights 4. Work with latest technologies like ChatGPT, ChatBot etc to develop innovative solutions 5. Train the models and finetune as needed at regular intervals 6. Be the contact person with Timefold on technical usage 7. Train developers on modeling and solving optimization problems 8. Act as a technical expert on optimization models and implementation for scheduling 9. Work with the engineering team to implement the models to solve business problems Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master degree in Industrial Engineering, Math or Computer Science 3+ years of experience in modeling and solving complex optimization, planning problems and Data Science initiatives Required Skills: 1. Background in operations research or data science 2. Experience in Data science work choosing the right ML algorithms and models 3. Experience with scheduling algorithms or combinatorial optimization problems 4. Exposure solving schedule automation and planning problems 5. Experience building models for Machine learning: Predictive Analytics, Prescriptive analytics 6. Able to communicate and explain optimization techniques and concepts to both laypersons and experts 7. A good team player Preferred Skills: 8. Experience working with solvers such as Gurobi, Optaplanner/Timefold, CPlex, Fico Xpress and/or modeling languages like GAMS or AMPL 9. Experience with ML algorithms like Regression, Classification, Clustering, Time series, Decision tree, Random forest, Gradient Boosted etc 10. Experience in software development using one of the languages such as Java, Python etc. 11. Experience working with metaheuristics 12. Industry experience in scheduling or workforce management 13.
