The Director will oversee the build-out and operation of facilities across office, manufacturing, and test/launch sites, developing world-class facilities and maintaining high standards in safety, efficiency, and compliance, while ensuring excellent employee support. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives in high-growth manufacturing/operations environments. RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead Facilities, Security, and EHS teams to scale company infrastructure in support of multiple aerospace and defense programsPartner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Test/Launch leadership to ensure facilities capacity scales ahead of program needsDevelop a capital investment roadmap for facilities, infrastructure, and equipment , including budgeting, forecasting, and executive reportingOwn construction projects end-to-end, including design, planning, permitting, construction, and vendor coordination to deliver on time, within budget, and to aerospace-grade standardsOversee utilities and critical infrastructure systems (electrical, compressed air, network rooms, fire suppression, power redundancy) to ensure uptime, expansion planning, and reliabilityEstablish and maintain standardized facility design templates for new sites to accelerate future expansion and ensure consistencyOwn permitting and regulatory approvals for specialized infrastructure at test/launch sites, including environmental permits and hazardous materials complianceManage the facilities operations team, setting clear goals, developing processes, and ensuring operational excellenceLead physical security across all sites — access control, surveillance, perimeter security, incident response, and integration into new facility buildoutsDevelop and oversee EHS/OSHA programs and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and internal safety standardsEnforce physical facilities, EHS, and security policies, audits, and compliance — including ITAR-related access controls — in partnership with Legal and local agenciesOversee vendor and service provider contract negotiations and maintain full lease compliance, including HVAC servicing, fire safety testing, and adherence to permitted uses and building codes BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 8+ years of experience managing large‑scale facilities operations, preferably in aerospace, defense, high‑tech manufacturing, or similar environments.High School Diploma or Equivalent REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated leadership experience managing multi‑disciplinary facilities teams across operations, construction, EHS, and infrastructure.Strong knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, lease compliance, and regulatory requirements (fire safety, HVAC, environmental, etc.).Hands-on experience managing vendor relationships, service contracts, and competitive bidding processes.Experience developing and maintaining EHS/OSHA programs, risk management systems, and emergency response plans.Ability to implement data-driven facilities management practices focused on operational efficiency, cost control, and sustainability.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, operations, manufacturing, and executive teams.Must meet U.S. export control requirements - add wording for ability to maintain security clearance PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: This section is an example of how to outline preferred or supplemental qualifications and should be used as guidance rather than copied directlyHighlight nice-to-have skills, experiences, or attributes that enhance a candidate’s ability to succeed but are not strictly requiredInclude broader competencies such as adaptability, learning agility, or cross-functional exposure where relevantEmphasize practical application and outcomes (e.g., project delivery, ownership, or problem-solving approach) rather than just listing tools or technologiesUse this section to provide additional context on the role’s environment, expectations, or ways of workingMaintain consistent formatting and tone with the Required Skills section for a cohesive overall job description ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of timeAbility to use a computer to complete assignmentsAbility to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone, and telepresenceAbility to pick up to 12lbsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment This is the lowest-to-highest compensation range we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
