Join us and take full creative ownership of custom tooling and machine design.We are expanding our engineering operations and looking for a talented, highly autonomous Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Mitchell, South Dakota. This is not a static maintenance role where you simply follow a set routine. Instead, you will be handed a blank space and given the creative freedom to design, plan, and set up advanced production lines from scratch. If you are a proactive self-starter who loves seeing their custom CAD designs built, installed, and fully operational on the shop floor, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for.What You'll DoDesign custom tools, assembly fixtures, and machinery of varying complexity using advanced CAD software.Plan efficient line layouts, break down complex manufacturing tasks, and specify the exact machinery required for new programs.Research new equipment, obtain vendor quotes, and write persuasive return-on-investment justifications for capital purchases.Work directly on the production floor alongside our technicians and fabricators to install, set up, and debug new machinery.Manage the Engineering Change Management process and maintain accurate technical data within our SAP ERP system.Drive continuous improvement by implementing Lean manufacturing techniques like Kanban and Kaizen to optimize workflow and reduce waste.What You'll BringA Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related Industrial Technology concentration.At least three years of professional experience as a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineer, specifically within a hands-on production environment.Strong drafting skills and proven proficiency in CAD software for tooling and machine design.The ability to work independently, manage your own task list, and drive complex projects forward with minimal supervision.A solid understanding of mechanical principles, metal fabrication, and assembly techniques.An ambitious mindset, ideally with an interest in pursuing a Professional Engineer license.Our team values autonomy, technical excellence, and collaboration.
