Job Title: GitHub Enterprise Migration EngineerLocation: Remote – United States Job Type: Contract Contract Duration: 2 MonthsJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced GitHub Enterprise Migration Engineer for a 2-month remote contract supporting an enterprise GitHub migration initiative.The primary responsibility will be executing GitHub Enterprise-to-Enterprise migrations while maintaining Azure DevOps pipeline continuity.The successful candidate will be comfortable working directly in live enterprise environments, troubleshooting migration issues, automating remediation, and communicating with technical client teams.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute GitHub Enterprise migrations using GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI) and custom migration toolingAnalyze and remediate Azure DevOps pipeline dependenciesRemediate Azure DevOps service connections, repository references, and webhooksRebuild GitHub teams, permissions, branch protection rules, and organization rulesetsAutomate remediation of GitHub secrets, variables, Apps, and webhooksDevelop and execute migration validation matricesSupport migration wave planning, execution, testing, and sign-offTroubleshoot migration issues and determine appropriate remediation strategiesCommunicate directly with client engineering and DevOps teamsRequired QualificationsHands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise administration and migrationsExperience using GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI)Strong Azure DevOps experienceStrong knowledge of Azure DevOps PipelinesExperience with Azure DevOps service connections and repository dependenciesStrong Python or similar scripting experienceExperience working with GitHub APIs and automationExperience with GitHub EMU, SSO and SCIMExperience with Microsoft Entra ID or another enterprise identity providerStrong troubleshooting and client-facing communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting corporate separations, divestitures, or M&A technology workstreamsGitHub Actions experienceGitHub Advanced Security experienceGitHub Packages experienceEnterprise migration validation experienceContract DetailsRemote – US 2-month contract Competitive hourly rate based on experienceImportant: Candidates should have direct hands-on GitHub Enterprise migration experience, preferably involving GEI and Azure DevOps pipeline/service-connection remediation.
