Senior Tax Associate
LHH is partnering with a fully integrated real estate developer/operator with a great reputation and broad portfolio to source a Sr. Tax Associate for their team. Reporting to a Tax Manager, this position will focus on real estate partnership tax in addition to other duties.Best suited for candidates who are naturally inquisitive and interested in collaborating with a close-knit, highly knowledgeable team.ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation and review of complex tax filings across partnerships, corporate entities, and individual investors, with a focus on real estate structuresOversee tax provision calculations, projections, and cash tax forecasting to support planning and decision-makingDrive tax planning initiatives, including strategies related to depreciation, cost segregation, entity structuring, and utilization of tax attributesServe as a key point of contact for external tax advisors, managing deliverables, reviewing outputs, and ensuring alignment with internal expectationsPartner closely with accounting and asset management teams to interpret financial results and translate them into tax implicationsEvaluate new transactions, investments, and structuring considerations from a tax perspective, providing actionable guidance to stakeholdersMaintain and enhance internal tax controls, documentation, and compliance processesIdentify inefficiencies within the tax function and lead process improvement initiatives, including automation and standardization effortsResearch complex or emerging tax issues and communicate recommendations clearly to managementSupport audits, examinations, and tax authority inquiries, including preparation of supporting documentationQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline3–5+ years of relevant tax experience, ideally including public accounting and/or real estate-focused organizationsStrong technical knowledge of partnership taxation and real estate tax concepts (e.g., allocations, basis, depreciation, Section 199A, etc.)Proven ability to independently manage tax compliance cycles and coordinate across multiple stakeholdersExperience taking ownership of key deliverables preferredCPA strongly preferredAdvanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with tax software and financial systemsHighly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environmentBenefits Overview:Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k planPersonal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis up to 15 days (initially), 8 Paid Holidays, and up to 8 weeks of Paid Parental Leave.
