Systems Engineer (Windows and Linux) - $219K

RCT is seeking a senior-level Technology Advisor to lead the technical baseline for a Laptop portfolio team. This role focuses on deep expertise in Windows, Linux, and related desktop platforms, ensuring products are secure, technically sound, and aligned with future innovation. The position bridges technical leadership and stakeholder communication, guiding product development from concept through deployment. A self-driven senior engineer who combines deep cross-platform technical expertise with strong communication and leadership skills, capable of guiding secure product development in a high-clearance environment.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and provide technical input on product plans and lifecycle reviewsRepresent the portfolio at technical boards and with external stakeholdersDevelop and maintain technical documentation and baseline artifactsIdentify vulnerabilities, technical risks, and product issues earlySupport R&D, testing preparation, and innovation-to-productization effortsCollaborate with Technical Leads, Project Management, and development teamsTranslate complex technical concepts into clear messaging for leadershipStay current on industry trends and emerging technologiesProvide hands-on troubleshooting and platform support as neededRequired QualificationsActive TS/SCI with PolygraphBachelor’s degree (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu)10+ years of experience in technical rolesStrong experience with Windows, Linux, and macOS desktop environmentsHands-on development experience across platformsUnderstanding of OS architecture and low-level codeExperience with Agile processes and project control gatesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive briefingsStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiativesProficiency with MS Office tools (including Visio, VBA, WSL)Desired QualificationsMaster’s degree in a related technical fieldIntelligence Community experienceStrong stakeholder management skillsFamiliarity with operating systems architecture and commercial messaging productsRCT Systems OffersCompetitive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance)Immediate 401k vestingGenerous PTO and flexible schedules$500.00 annual technology allowanceRCT Systems is committed and proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
