Site Safety Manager
General DescriptionThe Safety Manager manages the overall safety and health for each project assigned. In addition, this position oversees the subcontractor and vendor on-site personnel from a safety perspective, including any safety representatives assigned to their projects. This position serves as the primary point of contact for safety related programs/incidents and interfaces with clients.DutiesLeads project safety and health initiatives for each project assignedOversees subcontractor and vendor on-site personnel from a safety perspectiveProactively helps and supports crew members to achieve a safe work environment Collaborates with Construction operations to support weekly safety meetingsConducts project observations Communicates with client safety representatives Conducts Safety onboarding training for new crew membersConducts accident and incident investigations Reviews and understands all project specific safety requirements, customer safety requirements, and QISG safety requirements; ensures compliance at project sitesReviews subcontractor safety plans Creates and updates safety plans Ensures proper reporting from subcontractors (JHA’s, tailboards, etc.)Manages project roster and ensures adequate training for all field personnelPerforms any other duties assigned Adheres to internal standards, policies, and proceduresRequired Experience and EducationHigh school diploma, or equivalent4+ years’ experience in a safety role within high voltage substation, transmission, and distribution construction environmentsEmergency Medical Technician license (EMT)Preferred Experience and EducationBachelor’s degree in Safety related fieldOSHA 10 and 30 certificationsAED/CPR/First Aid training/certificationsSafety certifications (ASP, CSP, OHST, CHST, CUSP, etc.)SkillsKnowledge of OSHA legislation/requirements, resources, and inspection processWorking knowledge of Minimum Approach Distances (M.A.D.)Must be able to read and understand electrical system One Line drawingsSelf-starter Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a teamStrong problem evaluation/solving skillsAbility to interact effectively and professionally with other team membersStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office)Strong organizational and time management skillsStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Travel RequirementsTravel: YesPercent of Time: Up to 90%Powered by JazzHRI0C4XZHCYd
