By connecting with Pivot Group, you position yourself for roles that match your background and aspirations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and optimize manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and molds.Oversee the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of production tooling.Troubleshoot tooling-related production issues and implement corrective actions.Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets specifications.Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for tooling.Manage new tooling procurement, vendor relations, and project timelines.Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling performance and lifespan.Recommended QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.Strong proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tool design and analysis.In-depth knowledge of tooling design principles, manufacturing processes, and materials science.Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex tooling issues.Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and metrology tools.Bonus QualificationsExperience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or mold flow simulation software.Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for prototyping or tooling inserts.Certification or practical experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies applied to tooling processes.Hands-on experience with toolroom equipment, such as CNC machining, EDM, or grinding.Project management experience leading tooling development or improvement initiatives.Job Titles That Should ApplyTool Design Engineer, Die Designer, Mold Designer, Fixture Designer, Tool Maker, Manufacturing Tooling Engineer, Tooling Specialist, Jig and Fixture EngineerWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
