Balancing marketing and business development, the Marketing Director is responsible for setting the direction and tone for marketing efforts, promoting and positioning the firm, and providing marketing leadership to the department and staff members.Responsibilities:Hire, manage, and coach activities of marketing staff across the firmCo-lead the development and facilitation of the firm’s strategic plan with the Chief Experience Officer and input from the PresidentStay abreast of marketing and market trends, sharing findings with firm leadershipDevelop, implement, and maintain marketing plan and budget, lead the marketing team through a planning and mid-year check-in session, and update the executive committee quarterlyDevelop overarching marketing and business development strategies, in collaboration with the Chief Experience Officer, serving as an advisor to leadershipDevelop and implement strategies to expand existing market penetration and enter new marketsSupport the Brand Manager to set the strategic direction of firm brand initiatives and promotional materialsConduct market and client research including client surveys and interviews as well as using industry events and industry publications as resourcesUse KPIs and benchmarking to determine the success of the strategic plan, marketing plan, and business development plans – communicating these accomplishments and challenges at the annual associate’s retreat and select leadership/executive meetingsCollaborate with Chief Experience Officer and leadership to position leaders in industry and community through conference planning and industry organization participationEstablish marketing policies and proceduresMonitor and prepare a market analysis of existing project types, revenues, geographic, and client information using industry resources and DeltekSupport the Communications Manager in setting annual thought leadership strategy, developing communications calendar, awards initiatives, and other communications initiativesConduct marketing-related workshops and training, in conjunction with Marketing staff members, for the Principals and technical staffCommunicate updates on positioning strategies, pursuit pipeline, business development initiatives, and communications in bi-weekly marketing meetingsDevelop market sector strategies and business development plans with President, Directors, and Chief Experience OfficerInitiate and develop contact with potential clients and work with principals to secure new clients and projectsProvide research, work with marketing staff and Chief Experience Officer to prepare materials, and coach interview teams for new client meetingsConduct pursuit strategy sessions, including a go/no go evaluation with key firm stakeholders, to bring on new clients or engage in pursuitsLead the development of and oversee the pursuit strategy for qualifications, proposals, and presentations, ensuring quality in all materialsOversee and represent the firm at media events, civic and professional group meetings, client industry trade associations, and community and industry activitiesOversee firm special events/trade shows, booths, exhibits, etc.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years of experience with 3 to 5 of those years in the A/E/C industryMBA PreferredDemonstrated leadership and cross-functional collaborationExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsStrong attention to detailFluency with CRM/CMS and marketing analyticsCPSM preferred or willingness to pursueBenefits:We offer a full benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, supplementary insurance, flexible spending, and 401k with employer contribution.
