Electrical Design Engineer

STQ Partners are currently retained by a specialist Industrial Power Systems business with vast experience in electrical packages and execution on power projects.Headquartered in Houston, the business has over a century long heritage, serving and supplying the industrial power systems world.They are now seeking to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer focussed on Low Voltage & Medium Voltage Switchgear, MCC’s, EEC’s & VFD’s.The overall objective of the job:Utilize electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical) for electrical control systems, such as switchgear.Creation of point to point-wiring drawings for Electrical Equipment Centres (EEC or PDC or PCR), Low and Medium Voltage switchgear, Motor control centres (MCC’s), Utility panels.Communicate with electrical assembly department and wiring department with drawings, written instructions, and verbal instructions.Have a technical understanding of electrical component functionality and circuit design in order to create electrical drawings accurately and efficiently.Maintain awareness and knowledge of latest technology in Electrical Drafting processes and procedures.Develop wiring diagrams - based on provided sketches, mark-ups and directions.Assume responsibility, plan and execute assigned tasks to meet expectations (cost, quality and on time performance)If you want to work in a growing business with a rich history in the Houston area- we look forward to hearing from you.
