Supply Chain Material Buyer

Buyer – Rochester Industrial Control, Inc. (Ontario, NY) Full‑time On‑site Non‑Exempt Rochester Industrial Control, Inc. is seeking a detail‑oriented, proactive Buyer to join our Purchasing team. This role reports directly to the Director of Operations and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, follows up relentlessly, and builds strong vendor relationships. Key Responsibilities Purchase materials, components, and services through MRP/ERP and manual requisitions Ensure on‑time delivery through daily follow‑up and proactive communication Build and maintain strong supplier relationships Source and negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times Track orders, arrange transportation, and resolve delivery issues Maintain purchasing reports and monitor supplier performance Collaborate with inventory, production, planning, and sales teams Support ISO processes and continuous improvement initiatives What We’re Looking For High attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency Positive attitude with intrinsic motivation and accountability Intermediate MS Office skills, especially Excel Strong communication and relationship‑building skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Experience with MRP/ERP systems preferred (will train) High School diploma required; additional training a plus Why Join Us You’ll be part of a supportive, hands‑on team where your follow‑through and problem‑solving directly impact production success.
