Data Security Analyst

Job DescriptionLocation: Indianapolis, INDuration: 3+ Month Contract (Potential for Hire)OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Data Security Analyst to support day-to-day security operations within a fast-paced environment. This role will focus heavily on access management, security group administration, and ticket-based support for data operations teams.The ideal candidate is highly organized, security-minded, and comfortable working through a steady volume of service desk requests (starting with a decent backlog) while ensuring proper controls and compliance are maintained.Key Responsibilities:Manage and resolve service desk tickets related to data access and security requestsAdminister and maintain security group memberships (e.g., Active Directory, role-based access)Review, approve, and modify user access permissions in accordance with security policiesPartner with data operations teams to ensure secure and appropriate access to systems and dataPerform access audits and help enforce least-privilege principlesTroubleshoot access-related issues and escalate when necessaryMaintain documentation of access changes, procedures, and security controlsSupport compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to internal security standardsJob RequirementsRequired Qualifications2-5+ years of experience in data security, access management, or IT support with a security focusHands-on experience with:Security group management (Active Directory or similar)User access provisioning/deprovisioningTicketing systems (ServiceNow or similar)Strong understanding of access control principles (least privilege, role-based access)High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple requests efficientlyStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting data operations or data platformsFamiliarity with identity and access management (IAM) toolsExposure to security compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOX, etc.)Prior experience in enterprise or regulated environments Soft SkillsProcess-driven and highly detail-orientedStrong sense of ownership and accountabilityAbility to work independently in an onsite, operational environmentComfortable handling repetitive tasks with a focus on accuracy and security
