Production Development Systems produces equipment for its customers on an engineered-to-order basis. So the Controller must be familiar and comfortable with this business model. Sales, operations, and cash flow at PDS ebb and flow in cycles, so the Controller must be able to adapt to challenges as they occur.
The Controller plays a vital role in ensuring all financial records are timely and accurate. In this position, the Controller is responsible for managing the financial actions of the company. This position reports to the President and CFO while ensuring the policies and procedures are followed to ensure accounting transactions are accurate. This position also plans the annual budget and ensures compliance with debt covenants, filing requirements and tax reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies
Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements
Process payroll in accordance with company policy
Ensure payroll deductions and taxes are paid in accordance with regulations
Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts
Maintain cash flow projections and report to the President and CFO any critical issues
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while promoting accountability and continuous improvement
Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Maintain financial record keeping in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements
Prepare periodic job cost reports ensuring they reconcile with financial statements
Support leadership with financial analysis, KPI reporting, and strategic planning
Assist with annual budgeting, capital planning, and special financial projects
Manage relationships with external CPAs, banks, and insurance agents
· Complete quarterly borrowing base certificate to stay in compliance with the line of credit
Assist external CPA with preparation of the annual tax return
Participate as a key member of the leadership team within our EOS operating framework
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or CMA preferred
Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar role.
Experience working in an engineered-to-order, or job shop, company
Experience supporting organizations through periods of financial challenge, operational change, or business transformation, with the ability to provide sound financial leadership and practical solutions
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and cash management
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining exceptional accuracy and confidentiality.
Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and operating within an accountability-based leadership structure preferred

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
