Role:  Cybersecurity Engineer – Data ScanningOnsite Role in Merrifield , VAJD:This position is for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer specializing in Data Scanning. The successful candidate will serve as a technical lead, providing both technical project oversight and hands-on implementation, configuration, and support of enterprise data scanning solutions.The role is responsible for leading data scanning initiatives from initial concept through operationalization, offering technical guidance, troubleshooting complex issues, performing root cause analysis, and driving continuous solution maturation and optimization.This position is a full-time role with an expected 40-hour work week, generally Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support project demands, deployment activities, or feature release schedules.Major Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide technical guidance and collaboration with other Cyber Security Engineers supporting technologies within designated area of focus (Data Scanning)Evaluate technical solutions in response to business challengesProvide thought leadership in support of continuous improvement and service maturationPresent technical solutions as needed for knowledge sharing and acceptanceProvide project support and status reportingEstablish and maintain supporting documentation (architecture/data flow diagrams, runbooks, ServiceNow tickets, user stories, and tasks)Attend and participate in team meetings, standups, and other team ceremoniesCollaborate with partnering teams in support of solution development and deploymentMinimum QualificationsStrong team player, able to communicate and show leadership amongst teams of similarly knowledgeable specialists and engineersMinimum 3–5 years of experience with system design, administration, and securityMinimum 3–5 years of experience with networking (TCP/IP, firewall rules, DNS, and proxy configuration)Minimum 3–5 years of experience with data scanning and classification tools such as BigID and VaronisExperience working with Incident, Problem, and Change ManagementExperience with Linux administrationExperience with container platforms (AKS, Docker, Helm)Proficient verbal and written communication skillsPractical understanding of machine learning and automationDesired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field/equivalent work experienceActive CISSP certificationAdditional DetailsHybrid work modelAlternate Job Title: Senior Cyber Security EngineerContractor Title: Cyber Security EngineerContractor Experience Level: 2
