Systems Integration Engineer

Overview In this on-site role in Germantown, you own the integration, testing, and troubleshooting of EO/IR payloads within customer platforms. You will act as the technical bridge between engineering teams, U.S.-based customers, and prime contractors, driving end-to-end system integration across hardware, software, and mechanical interfaces. You’ll diagnose complex issues in real-world environments and support field deployments and training. This hands-on, high-visibility position rewards systems thinking, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration with international teams. You will help shape reliable payload integrations and contribute to customer success in dynamic settings. ResponsibilitiesLead EO/IR payload integrations into customer platformsValidate payload-to-platform interfaces (power, data, mechanical, communication)Support prime and sub-contractor integration scenariosTranslate customer requirements into technical executionPerform assembly/disassembly and field diagnostics of payloads and systemsSupport software/SDK integrations and troubleshoot data flowExecute defined test procedures and validate system performanceServe as primary technical interface with customers during integrationsCoordinate with Israel-based and U.S. program teamsProvide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related)3+ years in systems engineering, integration, test engineering, or field engineeringHands-on system-level integration and troubleshootingAbility to operate without detailed manuals in dynamic environmentsStrong root cause analysis and problem-solving skillsWillingness to travel 35% annually, with international onboardingExperience with integrated hardware systems and payloadsElectrical wiring, connectors, and harnesses; power distribution and signal flowMechanical interfaces and physical integration; field diagnosticsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-starter with initiativeCustomer-facing with ability to explain complex issues to non-specialistsSystem-level integration and troubleshootingUnderstanding of communication protocols, data flows, and system interfacesSoftware-enabled systems or SDK-based integrations
