CDL-Licensed Test & Support Driver (Transit Vehicles)Position SummaryThe CDL-Licensed Test & Support Driver is responsible for operating transit vehicles in support of road testing, engineering validation, demonstrations, and special events. This role works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Program teams to ensure vehicles are safely operated, properly evaluated, and professionally presented during testing and customer-facing activities.1st Shift Hours: 6:00am-2:30pmKey ResponsibilitiesVehicle Operation & Road TestingOperate transit buses and specialty vehicles in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety requirementsConduct engineering road tests, durability runs, and functional evaluations per test plansProvide real-time feedback to Engineering on vehicle performance, drivability, and operational issuesAccurately complete road test logs, checklists, and driver feedback reportsEngineering & Quality SupportSupport Engineering And Quality Teams DuringVehicle validation testingTroubleshooting and root cause investigationsPre-delivery inspections and final sign-off activitiesIdentify and report abnormalities, defects, or safety concerns immediatelySupport controlled testing activities under documented procedures (GDP-compliant)Event & Demonstration SupportOperate Vehicles ForCustomer demonstrationsTrade showsMedia eventsInternal and external ride-and-drive eventsPresent vehicles professionally and follow all event safety and operational guidelinesSupport vehicle staging, transport coordination, and post-event inspectionSafety & CompliancePerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT and company requirementsMaintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with required endorsementsAdhere to company policies, customer requirements, and ISO 9001 quality standardsReport incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediatelyDocumentation & CommunicationComplete all required documentation accurately and on time, including:Test logsInspection formsIssue reportsEvent documentationCommunicate clearly with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and customers as neededQualificationsRequired Skills:Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT medical requirementsExperience operating transit buses, coaches, or heavy vehiclesStrong attention to detail and safety awarenessAbility to follow written procedures and test plansPhysical & Work EnvironmentAbility to sit for extended periods while drivingAbility to climb steps, enter/exit vehicles frequentlyOccasional travel and extended work hours during testing or eventsExposure to outdoor conditions during road testing and eventsKey CompetenciesSafety-focused mindsetClear written and verbal communicationProfessional customer interactionAttention to documentation accuracyTeam collaboration across departmentsEqual Opportunity EmployerElDorado National California Inc. While we do not typically hire at the top of the salary range, initial offers are based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, with opportunities for growth and increases over time.The hiring range for this position is $22.20 - $27.00 per hour.
