Parking Lot Attendant

To provide supervision, traffic control and parking compliance enforcement for the parking lots and grounds of Allen High School.Qualifications:Education/Certification:High School Education or GEDSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to read and understand written instructionsAbility to effectively verbally communicate.Ability to work effectively with high school students.Ability to recognize problems and execute corrective actions.Experience:Major Responsibilities and Duties:Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student conduct, vehicle operation and parking.Control traffic and parking on campus grounds.Patrol school grounds to detect and report unauthorized persons or vehicles.Work cooperatively with office personnel to report parking violations, problems with vehicles (i.e. improperly parked cars, lights on, etc.).Assist fire department, law enforcement and security personnel as needed.Stop and or report any activity that is a security risk.Make written reports of security violations.Monitor, open and close buildings for any scheduled after-hour activities.Communicate and follow-up with campus staff on any request for assistance.Monitor two-way radio emergency channels and serve as primary point of emergency contact for events occurring on the grounds of the campus.Performs other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneCustomer Care Skills:Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times.Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others.Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.Mental Demands/Physical Demands:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals. Two-way radio, motorized/golf cart.Posture: Prolonged walking and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reachingLifting: Occasional light lifting and carryingEnvironment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; work outside and exposure to extreme temperatures and inclement weatherMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress.Salary:Pay Grade OS02, $15.73 - $18.57 hourly rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary scheduleDays:187Start Date:
