Special Education TeacherQualifications:* Current AL Professional Educator Certificate with proper endorsement for area* Meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education regulations.Reports to: Principal and Special Education CoordinatorContract: 187 DaysSupervises: n/aJob Responsibilities/Duties:* Create or select long-range plans based on a review of system and state curriculum priorities, student profiles andinstructional prioritiesDefine goals and objectives for unit and daily plansIdentify specific intended learning outcomes that are challenging, meaningful and measurablePlan and prepare a variety of learning activities considering individual student's culture, learning styles, special needs and socio-economic backgroundsEstablish and maintain a positive and safe learning environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning processEstablish and use behavior techniques which are appropriate and effectiveSupport school improvement initiatives by active participation in school activities, services, and programs
