Building Package Salesperson
To be an integral part of our retail sales team by demonstrating excellent customer service skills in our retail lumber yard. Our ideal candidate takes pleasure in solving problems, is able to work under pressure, up sell products to customers and enjoys being part of a team. Teamwork at Sutherlands means participating in team decisions, maintaining good working relationships and supporting coworkers and our business goals.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
Greeting customers
Assisting customers with complete quotes on building packages, deck packages, and fencing products
Seeking out new contract builders to assemble sold packages
Operate Forklifts, saws, and banding equipment
Accurately gather and prepare customer delivery loads (on occasion)
Guiding customers towards the right product(s)
Assisting with yard returns and exchanges
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have a high school education/GED and 1+ years of retail sales experience or the equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training. Specific product knowledge and sales and or building experience is preferred.
Be 18 years of age or older
Excellent customer service skills
Pass initital and random drug screens
Have a friendly and outgoing personality
Be detail oriented
Be motivated, hardworking and honest
Organized and able to effectively manage multiple customer quotes and projects
Salary:
Pay will be based on the level of experience. This position also has opportunities for commissions
