Septic Permit Officer Position Title: Septic Permit Officer Department: Health Department Reports to: Director of Environmental Services Status: Non-except / Contracted Employee Pay: Contracted Employee earns $300 per every septic system permitted and the final inspection completed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · On-site Septic System permitting, inspection, and education. · Coordinates OSS training with the Indiana State Department of Health and other resource · Education of the community regarding public health · Performs duties as assigned for Residential OSS Rule 410 IAC 6-8.3 REQUIREMENTS: · Knowledge of public environmental health · Valid driver’s license and transportation availability to perform job duties · Good interpersonal communication skills · Computer skills and database experience · IOWPA Certified · Bonded and insured PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS: The Septic Permit Officer works with the Director of Environmental Services, the Indiana Department of Health, and the general public to provide environmental health services to prevent infectious disease transmissions within the community.
