Cafe Lead
POSITION PURPOSE:The Cafe Lead inspires staff, helps to lead the daily Cafe operation and ensures areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. They assist with staff training, workflow inspection, inventory management and daily equipment maintenance and are responsible for preparing and serving food items and beverages while interacting with guests in a positive, friendly and efficient manner.Previous experience as a coffee shop supervisor or lead is strongly preferred.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Opens and closes the cafe according to established policies and procedures Communicates with guests to take food and beverage orders Interacts with staff and guests, provides feedback to staff throughout their shift to ensure quality service, works with management to investigate and resolve guest concerns Support management in staff performance related matters including; training, employee reviews, corrective action, investigations, conflict resolution, etc. Operates kitchen and other cafe equipment in order to prepare food and beverage orders Provides outstanding customer service and engage in suggestive selling Maintains equipment, performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots breakdowns and/or calls for repairs Assists in stocking food and beverage items as needed Performs cash-handling functions, including point-of-sale (POS) system, registers, and daily reporting Ensures the café adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service Ensures the daily operation of the cafe adheres to operating procedure guidelines Assists in other positions in the F&B team as neededQUALIFICATIONS:Basic Qualifications And Skills Must be flexible regarding scheduling based on business demands, including nights, weekends and Holidays as needed Some High School education or equivalent Flexibility regarding scheduling based on business demands Experience utilizing basic math skills with ability to add, subtract multiply and divide Proven customer service skills and communication skills; able to read and interpret English language manuals relating to safety, operations, and proceduresDesired Qualifications And Traits Previous experience demonstrating strong customer service Prior experience utilizing restaurant equipment and sanitation standards Ability to multi-task and prioritize a variety of tasks with minimal direction Previous experience with cash transactions and Point of Sale systems Proven teamwork skillsREQUIREMENTS: Pass a background check and mandatory drug testPHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to lift up to 20 lbs. Able to bend, stretch, and twist Able to stand for long periods of time
