For more information review the NEOGOV andGeneral ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), the Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is responsible for supporting students with disabilities. The SLPA, consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), assists the Speech Language Pathologist with implementing and documenting treatment programs for students and children.Salary:The full salary range for this position is $30.18 - $36.72 per hour. Offers are made at the beginning of the range.Assignment:This position will serve Florens Academy, a program that serve aggressive adolescent aged youth with significant developmental delays. Florens provides instructional behavioral, and social/emotional support and activities to the youth served. Find out more about Florens Academy:This position is will be 8 hours per day, 210 days per year for the 2026-2027 school year. The start date will be August 2026.Regular attendance required: This role relies on regular and reliable attendance to ensure consistency for our students and help support a positive, productive learning environment. This position is Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Regular attendance during those hours are expected.Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions:Assist the SLP to implement treatment plans or protocols to address language, voice, fluency and articulation disorders; conduct student observation and assessment; and communicate with parents and staff in a variety of school settings.Assist the SLP to conduct speech and language screenings.Collect data, maintain accurate records and report student progress.Follow established procedures from referral to discharge with appropriate communication to supervisors.Prepare schedules, treatment rooms, projects and materials for conducting individual and group therapy programs.Supervise students.Provide positive behavior management support, consistent with the IEP/IFSP.Participate in staff meetings, inservice programs, workshops and seminars.Participate as a member of the education team. May attend parent conferences. Other Functions:Other duties as assigned.Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology OR SLPA certification from an accredited institution.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a special education classroom.Knowledge of programs and services for individuals with disabilities.Working Conditions/Employment RequirementsWorking Conditions:Classroom setting, may move from classroom to classroom to provide services.Sit, stand, stoop to attend to student's needs and to provide instruction.Regular attendance during scheduled work hours.Travel within ESD 112 region.
