Vistra's Corporate Strategy and M&A team is responsible for evaluating corporate strategic initiatives, strategic planning, originating, valuing, and executing potential M&A opportunities, coordinating investment strategy, and evaluating emerging technologies in the innovation and venture capital space.Requires a proven strategy leader who is thoughtful, collaborative and experienced in driving alignment in senior executive leadership teams.The candidate will gain exposure to Vistra's key business segments (Fossil, Nuclear, Renewables, Retail) in a highly visible role across the company.The candidate will be part of an elite team that interfaces and directly supports Vistra's senior leadership, external consultants, and other key stakeholders.Job DescriptionKey AccountabilitiesDrive the evaluation and execution of strategy projects across Vistra's key business segments including conducting research and analysis of strategic alternatives as well as developing recommendations and preparing summary materialsManage Vistra's corporate strategic planning process through coordination with broad group of Vistra subject matter experts across the organizationDevelop materials explaining the Company's strategy and growth objectives to external stakeholdersMaintain relationships with external parties including industry peers, bankers, private investors, and consultantsMonitor industry and competitor developmentsSupport the evaluation and execution of potential M&A dealsPrepare and present ad hoc reports and presentations for Vistra senior leadership teamLead strategy team members who report to this positionEducation, Experience, & Skill Requirements5-10 years of experience in relevant industry including management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, corporate development, private equity / venture capital, or related fieldsExperience gained through direct involvement in corporate strategy and/or M&A transaction execution with cross-functional coordination (incl. financial analysis, due diligence, project coordination, etc.)Experience with structuring commercial agreements, joint ventures, partnership agreementsStrong written and verbal communication skills with expertise at summarizing quantitative data and strategic considerations into executive level presentationsAdapts well to change and meets commitments in a deadline-driven environment with multiple competing prioritiesExcellent relationship building skills, and collaborative work approach from peer level up to executivesExpert with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordKnowledge of the energy industry (power and gas) requiredMinimum education is Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Business/Economics ; MBA preferredKey Metrics* Responsibilities include coordinating cross functional projects, developing presentations and analysis, gathering information, building spreadsheet models and assisting with day-to-day responsibilities of the Strategy team* Execution of annual strategic planning processJob FamilyCorp Dev & PlanningCompanyVistra Corporate Services CompanyLocationsIrving, TexasTexasWe are a company of people committed to: Exceeding Customer Expectations, Great People, Teamwork, Competitive Spirit and Effective Communication.
