Engineering Manager, Seat Trim

Engineering Manager – TrimMetro Detroit, MIVenteon is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager – Trim to join a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier in the Metro Detroit area. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing trim engineering activities within a seating business unit.The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in seat trim engineering along with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across program management, quality, manufacturing, and lab operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead trim product development for a seating business unitDrive trim design reviews and manage open issue resolutionEnsure best practices and engineering processes are properly appliedOversee DFMEA completion and updates prior to tooling release; ensure high RPN items are resolved or have action plansDesign trim patterns aligned with foam interface templates and Design for Assembly guidelinesMaintain deep knowledge of trim cover construction processesCoach and develop team capabilities in 2D pattern design (manual and CAD-based)Provide engineering solutions using data-driven problem solving and Basic Engineering Process (BEP) principlesQualifications5+ years of seat trim engineering experienceMinimum 5 years of engineering management experienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related fieldProven ability to mentor, train, and develop engineering teamsExperience launching automotive programsWhat’s OfferedCompetitive salaryCareer advancement opportunitiesFull-time, direct hire positionPaid time offMedical, dental, and vision coverageProfit sharing and pension plan
