These Descriptions are revised to meet the changing needs of ASD at the sole discretion of the executive leadership team and/or in accordance with guidelines and standards set for an approved private special education program.POSITION DESCRIPTIONPosition: PACES Clinical Social WorkerDepartment: PACESSupervisor: Clinical CoordinatorDescription: 12 months - Benefits eligibleUnion or NCB: Non-Collective BargainingSCOPE OF DUTIESUnder the direct supervision of the Clinical Coordinator of the PACES Residential Treatment Program for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children, provides therapeutic support to deaf and hard-of-hearing children with emotional and behavioral challenges, crisis intervention support to the residential program, on-call coverage during evenings and weekends, and consultation and support services to parents, families and other community resources.PRIMARY DUTIESAssists with the identification of the treatment needs of students and helps with thedevelopment of a Treatment Plan.Insures the application of treatment goals into the residential setting and across school-wide milieus.Daily schedule to include second shift duties, by assisting Residential Counselors and Assistant Deans with developing routine schedules, sensory activities, and other therapeutic interventions for students in the residential setting.Under the Supervision of the Clinical Coordinator, has an assigned caseload and provides individual, group and family counseling to students.Provides consultation to parents and families regarding their child.Develops measurable goals and objectives on I.E.P.s.Refers students to outside social service agencies when deemed appropriate, including joint-case planning with outside agencies.Provides crisis intervention services to students.Provides transition information to students and assists with implementation of discharge plans.Prepares and maintains records on students, as mandated by licensing agencies.Provides on-call support during evenings and weekends hours.Works a schedule to include 2 shifts to cover nights/weekends. Changes in schedule are required to accommodate attendance at important student and family-related meetings, and training.May participate in admissions for new students.May supervise interns.Provides consultation to faculty and staff.Other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSApplicants must be graduates from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work.Applicants must hold certification or licensure, to include an LPC, CISW, LCSW, or the expressive therapies.Applicants must have one or more years of experience counseling Deaf/Hard of Hearing clients.Applicants must have the ability to work effectively with related professionals, children and parents, and the ability to keep records and to make appropriate reports and recommendations.Applicants must be fluent in ASL.Previous experience in a residential or day program for deaf and/or hard of hearing children with severe emotional disturbance is highly desirable.SALARY AND BENEFITS:Group health insurance and other fringe benefits are available.$1000 sign on bonus after one year of service for newly hired employees, not applicable for re-hires.ASD is ALL ways able.
