Project Manager - Solar & BESS (Utility & Community Scale)📍 Location: Tampa, FL or Los Angeles, CA (preferred)About the OpportunityAn established and growing renewable energy developer is seeking a Project Manager to lead the development and execution of utility-scale and community-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the U.S.This role will be instrumental in advancing projects from early-stage development through NTP and construction, working cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end project development for solar (36MW-200MW) and standalone BESS projectsManage all development phases including: Land acquisition and real estate negotiationsPermitting and regulatory approvals (critical focus area)Interconnection processes with ISOs and utilitiesEPC contractor selection, negotiation, and executionProject financing coordination, including tax equity and financial modeling supportPower purchase agreements (PPAs) and offtake negotiationsCoordinate internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and budgetDrive due diligence efforts, including support for M&A transactions (e.g., MIPAs)Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project milestonesQualifications~4+ years of experience in renewable energy project developmentProven experience managing full project lifecycle (development through construction)Strong permitting expertise (high priority for this role)Hands-on experience with: Interconnection processesEPC contracting and negotiationProject finance fundamentals and stakeholder coordinationPPA/offtake agreementsExperience working within major ISOs such as:CAISO, PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, or ISO-NEBachelor's degree requiredPreferred ProfileExperience with both solar and energy storage projectsBackground in utility-scale or community-scale renewable projectsConfident communicator with strong stakeholder management skillsEntrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate independentlyWillingness to be based in or relocate to Southern California or TampaEligibilityMust be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorshipWhy Apply?Opportunity to play a key role in a high-growth renewable platformVisibility across development, finance, and executionCollaborative team with strong industry expertiseFlexible compensation aligned with experience EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
