Job Posting Title:Aluminum Welder ISchedule: M – T, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PMAluminum Welder IThis position is located on-site at our Bayou La Batre, AL shipyardOur Welders are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include:Roles and Responsibilities:Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and ship drawingsFit, tack, and weld assemblies for hulls, decks, superstructures, and outfittingWeld aluminum proficiently.Perform rework and repairs as required by QA/QC or inspection resultsWeld in any position (uphill, horizontal, vertical, or flat)Operate power equipment safely and comply with all safety standards.Qualifications / Skills / Experience:Minimum 3 years of experience as an Aluminum WelderPossess a High School Diploma or a GEDfundamental knowledge in marine or manufacturing industryProficiency in MIG and/or TIG aluminum welding.Knowledge of aluminum alloys commonly used in shipbuilding (e.g., 5083, 5086, 6061)Ability to produce quality work with minimum to no reworkExcellent math skills with the ability to read a tape measure accurately.Understanding of welding distortion control and heat input managementBirdon offers a full benefits package including:Health/Dental/VisionEAPLifeSTD/LTD401(k) with company match (pre- and post-tax options)Vacation/Sick accrual and holiday payTuition reimbursement programEmployee referral programPet InsuranceBirdon is committed to the HEALTH and SAFETY of our workforce and to the ENVIRONMENT, we expect this same commitment from all employees.Birdon America Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
