Security Engineer, Level 4
Overview
In this role you will design and scale security controls across infrastructure and cloud environments, while conducting threat modeling and security assessments. You will build automation to improve compliance, observability, and governance, and work with product and engineering teams to harden systems. You will investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and help elevate Snap’s security maturity. This is an opportunity to shape security in a fast-moving, privacy‑driven product ecosystem.

Key requirementsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience2+ years of post-bachelor security experience; or Master’s +1 year; or PhD in a relevant fieldExpertise in infrastructure security, enterprise security, access management, application security, detection and response, or spam and abuseProficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, Go, Java)Experience with vulnerability scanners, SIEM, EDR, cloud security frameworks, and automation platformsAdept at leveraging AI tools for development while auditing outputs for architecture and security risksStrong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skillsSecurity advocacy to raise awareness across teamsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong verbal and written communicationCollaborative and proactive mindsetSecurity tooling (vulnerability scanners, SIEM, EDR, cloud security frameworks, automation platforms)Programming in Python, Go, or JavaThreat modeling and incident response
