Senior SEC Reporting Manager

Position SummaryThe Senior Manager of SEC Reporting will be a core member of our Controllership team and is responsible for leading the preparation and filing of SEC reports while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal control requirements. This role serves as a subject matter expert on complex reporting issues and equity-based compensation. This position will lead the SEC Reporting team, report to the SVP, Assistant Controller, and partner closely with the Controllership Accounting and Reporting team. The position requires a high level of collaboration, working cross-functionally with Legal, Tax, FP&A, Investor Relations, and external partners to support accurate, timely, and compliant reporting.What will your job entail?Key Responsibilities:Lead the preparation and filing of all quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) reports and assist in the preparation and review of 8-Ks and other SEC filings as neededManage and mentor the SEC Reporting teamResearch and resolve complex reporting issues, preparing clear and well-supported documentationDemonstrate a strong understanding of how new transactions impact SEC filings and disclosuresLead the implementation of new accounting standards that impact disclosures, ensuring compliance with regulatory changesAnalyze new, complex equity-based compensation situations and determine the appropriate accounting treatmentReview monthly equity-based compensation and dividend calculations and journal entries, and review quarterly EPS calculationsUtilize disclosure checklists to ensure completeness of SEC filingsProvide expertise in the review and analysis of XBRL taggingAct as the primary point of contact for external auditors on SEC reporting and equity-based compensation matters, proactively addressing key issuesIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the SEC reporting function, including opportunities to automate workflowsWork closely with the International Finance team to ensure timely statutory reportingEnsure that internal control policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of SEC reporting and related areasAssist with special projects and transactions as assignedEducation/Qualification/Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.CPA required8+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or SEC reporting experience at a public companyStrong expertise in U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirementsDeep understanding of how quarterly transactions impact financial reporting and disclosures, with the ability to assess and address implications across filingsOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to senior management and other stakeholdersProven ability to research and resolve complex accounting and reporting issues, such as those related to equity-based compensation, dividends, and earnings per shareProficiency in identifying and implementing process improvements to drive efficiencyHighly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining a focus on continuous improvementProven ability to foster and maintain collaborative and professional relationships with internal teams and external partnersExperience with reporting compliance software (Workiva, ActiveDisclosure, etc.) is a plusExperience reviewing XBRL tagging preferredRyan Specialty is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
