Competitive rates, great benefits, and exclusive discounts.General DescriptionThe primary responsibilities of a Bartender include taking exceptional care of guests and ensuring servers receive bar orders accurately and in a timely fashion. In order to be successful, a Bartender must possess the knowledge and ability to prepare high-quality drinks in a fast paced environment. In addition, bartenders must have a high degree of knowledge of all food items being served, be able to speak confidently and politely to all guests, be able to read and provide for the wants and needs of each guest, and be able to prioritize tasks in order to work in an efficient and organized manner. Work DutiesPrepare bar and lounge area for guest arrivalKnow and be able to explain all food and beverage items on the menusKnow and be able to explain any featured items or specialsPolitely greet guests in a timely fashionLead guests through the restaurant menus and make appropriate menu suggestionsSuggestively sell and upsell menu items as appropriateAnswer any guest questions as necessaryRing guest orders accurately into the POS systemPrepare guest drink orders quickly and efficientlyBe able to prepare drinks accurately and according to the recipeDeliver each order to the guest or server in a timely fashionObserve proper service procedures when serving food and beverage itemsFollow up with guests at appropriate times to ensure satisfaction and refill beveragesClear bar area and/or tables of unnecessary items at appropriate timesProcess guest payments accurately and quickly following company cash handling proceduresMaintain the bar area in a clean and organized conditionReceive and properly store all liquor, beer and wine ordersWork with managers to ensure proper par levels of all bar items are maintainedPrepare essential bar products such as simple syrup, fresh lime juice, and drink mixes as necessaryComplete all assigned opening and closing dutiesDisplay proper food safety procedures at all timesFollow all necessary laws and processes for the safe service of alcoholWork closely with all other team members and display good teamworkFollow the Disney 5-Keys Basics, Service Basics and Company Guidelines at all timesAll other tasks as assigned NOTE: This Job Description is subject to change at any time Position RequirementsWork Experience & Education RequirementsMinimum one year of bartending experienceMinimum of a high school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment preferredKnowledge of Mexican cuisine and beverages a plusMust have or be able to obtain a State of Florida Food Safety CertificateMust have or be able to obtain a Florida Responsible Vendors CertificateMust be well versed in food safety - including proper techniques for handling food and personal hygiene requirementsMust be well versed in laws and company practices regarding the safe and legal service of alcoholic beverages Working Conditions & Physical RequirementsMust be able to perform all necessary job functionsMust be able to stand and be mobile for up to 4 consecutive hoursMust be able to function in narrow spaces, such as those found in kitchens and dining roomsMust be able to lift and carry equipment/food up to 50 poundsMust possess dexterity in lifting and carrying trays and other restaurant itemsMust be able to push and pull (carts, doors etc.)Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, stoop and crouchMust be able to perform repetitive tasksMust be able to complete work duties in a variety of environmental conditions, including coolers, freezers, kitchen environments and outdoorsMust be able to work with foods containing various food allergensMust be able to communicate and interact politely and effectively with guests of all typesMust be able to effectively satisfy guest demandsMust be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentMust be fluent in the English languageMust be available to work weekends and holidaysMust be able to arrive for all assigned shifts on-timeMust be able to comply company appearance guidelines PositionBartender DivisionVista Springs dba Frontera Cocina at Disney Springs LocationFrontera Cocina This position is currently accepting applications.
