This role is primarily focused on payroll, while also connecting closely to the accounting function through reconciliations, general ledger support, benefit-related audit work, and compliance activities. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this person will play an important role in ensuring accurate payroll processing for approximately 125 employees across 29 states. In this role you’ll help support both day-to-day operations and ongoing process improvement.What You'll Actually Do:Process biweekly payroll and support payroll-related questions from employees across the organizationManage multi-state payroll tax responsibilities, including timely payments and registrations in new states as neededPrepare payroll-related general ledger activity and perform reconciliations tied to benefits, 401(k), and employee deductionsPartner closely with the benefits team on benefit audits and funding activityReview current manual workflows and help identify more efficient, accurate processes for payroll and related accounting tasks To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:5+ years of payroll experience, ideally in an organization of similar size and complexityExperience handling multi-state payroll, with the ability to navigate payroll tax compliance requirementsStrong Excel skills, including functions such as VLOOKUPs and logical formulasAbility to connect payroll activity to the broader accounting and reconciliation processAssociate degree or equivalent experience required; a bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred but not requiredStrong critical thinking, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to solving problemsAbility to communicate professionally and maintain confidentialityExperience with ADP Workforce Now is a strong plus Where and How Much:Target compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 Discretionary bonus 100% remote. With ability to go into South Denver office3+ weeks PTO, 401(k), HSA/FSA
