Firmware Engineer - Embedded C, ARM, System Level Programming

Firmware EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and optimize low-level software that drives embedded systems. The role focuses on Embedded C and ARM-based system-level programming to deliver reliable, high-performance firmware for advanced hardware platforms. You will work closely with hardware engineers, system architects, and software teams to implement device bring-up, develop drivers, and ensure tight hardware-software integration across the product lifecycle.QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science2+yrs Embedded C and system-level programming on ARM platforms.Hands-on experience with ARM microcontrollersSystem level programmingStrong debugging, problem solving, and communication skills, and experience collaborating in cross-functional teams.It is a plus if you have experience in:Assembly languageNetworkingStorage systems and interfaces (NVMe, SAS, SATA), PCIe, kernel-level development, networking protocols, and assembly language experience.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain firmware in Embedded C for ARM-based microcontrollers and SoCs.Implement and optimize system-level code including bootloaders, device drivers, and hardware abstraction layers.Collaborate with hardware engineering to perform board bring-up, signal validation, and hardware-software integration testing.Debug complex issues using JTAG, debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and trace tools; diagnose failures across hardware and firmware boundaries.Contribute to performance tuning, memory optimization, and power management for resource-constrained systems.Write clear, maintainable code and perform thorough code reviews to ensure reliability and compliance with coding standards.Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests, firmware validation suites, and CI pipelines.Document firmware architecture, APIs, test plans, and release procedures for cross-functional teams.Work with system architects to define interfaces and participate in design trade-offs for scalability, maintainability, and safety.Mentor junior engineers and participate in sprint planning, estimation, and technical discussions. BenefitsHealth, dental, and vision insuranceLife and disability insurance FSA and HSA401k with 6% matchESPPFlexible/Unlimited PTOAnnual bonus from 15-30% (depending on your level)VERY generous stocks!    Email Your Resume In Word ToColette.Hory@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
