Job Description Design Project Manager / Engineer – Construction Innovative manufacturing company with facilities in Hawthorne, CA seeks a highly skilled Design Project Manager to support complex R&D infrastructure and construction projects across the Los Angeles area and throughout the United States. In this role, you will lead full design and engineering efforts from concept through construction while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects in a fast-paced environment. As a Design Project Manager, you will leverage your engineering, construction, and project management expertise to drive design execution, infrastructure development, and cross-functional coordination. Your responsibilities will include:Leading and managing construction design packages, design reviews, and engineering deliverables across all project phases, including concept, permitting, IFP, IFC, construction administration, and project closeout.Supporting the design and development of complex building systems and infrastructure solutions while improving efficiency, constructability, and operational performance.Conducting feasibility studies, site evaluations, utility capacity reviews, load assessments, and code compliance analysis to support project planning and execution.Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Construction, Facilities, Workplace, IT, EHS, and Project Controls to maintain project alignment and execution goals.Translating stakeholder and end-user requirements into actionable project deliverables, schedules, and technical solutions.Developing strategies for engineering, permitting, and construction documentation across multiple jurisdictions and project delivery methods.Managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards for quality and execution. To qualify for this Design Project Manager opportunity, you must have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least seven (7) years of experience managing complex design and infrastructure projects with significant MEP scope. You will also be required to have:Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams within A/E firms or owner-side organizations.Advanced project and program management skills with the ability to solve complex engineering and operational issues.Experience supporting R&D facilities, workplace environments, and site infrastructure projects.Proficiency with BIM software and construction technology platforms, including Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud.The ability to travel nationwide 25–33% for project work.A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.If you are a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and enjoys driving complex projects from concept through execution, please submit your resume for immediate and confidential consideration.
